The day was getting dark. Shadows flowed together as the setting sun was lost in dark clouds. He walked silently down the street, lost in thought. Doubt filled his mind as he fingered some bills in his pocket. With a passionless resolve he walked up to the man at the corner. In a moment the deed was done. He now had in his pocket a means to dull the pain. A means of escape. He had lost faith in all but the moments of life that were not real. Long had he planned his escape in moments of doubt, moments of pain. N
